full time Festival Co-Ordinator ( Comedy)

at CKP and InterTalent Group (Anywhere)

CKP and InterTalent are a Comedy production and representation agency, who have been producing shows in Edinburgh for over 15 years. In this time we have produced critically acclaimed, award winning shows for acts ranging from newcomers to household names like Micky Flanagan.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join us for this years Edinburgh fringe festival as the Festival Co-Ordinator, a role that oversees all ‘on-the-ground’ operations for our productions.

We are looking for a candidate with experience of managing events, ideally in a festival setting, with an understanding of the current UK comedy scene. You must be comfortable managing teams, as you will have approx. 5 core staff and a street team of 14 reporting to you. A can do, solution focused outlook is a must, as well as flexibility and strong work ethic – as the festival runs every day, evening and weekend work will be expected.

Below is a brief overview of what the core job entails -

Edinburgh Co-ordinator

Role to begin mid July date TBC

Pre Festival -
Reconfirm all Staff members joining us for the month and ensure that they have a clear job description.

Alongside Head of Street Team, build a working time table for the team. Familiarise yourself with the time sheets and grids for street team

Finalise and send the Street team welcome pack alongside the Head of street team.

Alongside Head of Street team, arrange first days training itinerary and act meet up for meet and greet drinks.

Reconfirm all tech times and needs with the acts and venue and liase with the venue to ensure this is all in place.

Arrange for collection of Keys and entry into the production flat on Sunday 29th July.

First week
Run the introduction and training day for the Street team including making sure everyone is briefed on their sales pitches.

Go to the appropriate tech runs of your shows and drive these.

Ongoing throughout the month
Run a daily production meeting, where all shows are discussed, and a plan is made regarding maximizing numbers - deals/street team technique/ anything else that will make a difference.
Lay up print for acts you are show managing,
Discuss the extra shows the acts are doing and ensure the Head of Street team has scheduled exit flyering for these.

During the day, deal with any production issues that arise
Make sure the street team has had all the information about numbers they will need for the day and a good target has been set for them.

Where any of the show managers escalate issues with thier acts/venues, deal with these.

Make sure all the team is motivated, and doing their job to the best of their ability at all times.

Be aware of and actively pursue any opportunities for our acts to sell more tickets, or raise their profile.
