Edinburgh University Students' Association is looking to recruit an Event Programming and Promotions Coordinator to join our Commercial Team.

Salary: £400 - £500 per week
Hours: 40 per hours a week, additional hours essential during the festival period
Contract: Fixed Term June - September

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the 3rd largest event in the world and every year thousands of performers take to the stage to perform and entertain in theatre, cabaret, comedy music and dance. Over the 27 days the Edinburgh University Student Association partners with two of the big four creative teams Pleasance Theatre Trust and Gilded Balloon, to showcase some of the best shows and performances the Fringe has to offer with 3 venues- Pleasance Courtyard, Pleasance Dome, Teviot Row House (Gilded Balloon).

The Role:
Events Programming and Promotions Coordinator required to join the commercial team at Edinburgh University Student Association to support the delivery of activities during the summer festival period, in particular, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019. Working in the operational team, reporting directly to the Festival Business Manager this role is a fixed term contract starting middle of June and completion 30 August 2019.

A key role in supporting the festival delivery, primarily the production and programming of entertainment area. This will have a direct impact on the income expectations and therefore there will be targeted income requirements from this position. Leading on the marketing promotions strategy, in co-ordination with the marketing department, to deliver key actions and impacts pre and during the fringe festival including social media, promotions opportunities, advertisement and operational support. Some sales requirement through the big screen, utilising advertising spaces to generate further income and linking with the all the partner social media campaigns.


The Person:
We are looking for someone who has the ability to multi-task, co-ordinate many aspects of the programming and content management package, which is a key support stream to the income of the Student Association business. Ability to communicate on different levels and maintain a high standard of documentation and online records.

You should have a technical and content management background: experience and understanding of ONELAN digital platform, as well as some basic knowledge on production kit and technical equipment. You should be creative and an ability to determine an age appropriate creative entertainment programme for the stage and screen area.
