freelance Technician/caption operator for Edinburgh show.

at Edalia Day (Anywhere)

I'm looking for someone to operate the captions on my Edinburgh show,
Too Pretty To Punch and help with the get in and get out.

Too Pretty To Punch is an uplifting, life affirming, comedy spoken word show about
gender and transphobia in the media.

Pay: £15 a performance x 23 shows + 2 rehearsals, paid weekly by BACS ?+ a pass to see shows at ZOO venues

?It involves sitting next to the show operator, following a marked up script and pushing
a button on a game controller for every line of text in the show, as well as helping set
up and take down the set before and after the show.

The set is a light weight aluminium
frame and projector screen with 3 heavy metal bases, an oddly shaped freestanding
screen, a chair, 3 cardboard boxes, a microphone and a banjo.?

Informal run through: 31st July informal run through.
Tech rehearsal: 1st August. 11:45am - 1:45pm ZOO Southside, Studio.

?Performances: 2nd - 13th & 15th - 26th August. 1:25pm - 2:25pm
(+ 15 minutes get in/get out either side).

We have a preview on the 28th July at Alphabetti in Newcastle. On the off chance you
happen to be free for that as well and in the area that would be a brilliant plus but we’re
assuming not and will probably just not have captioning for that show.

You don’t need any technical know-how, but you do need an attention to detail and the
ability to focus on getting the cues right.

This is a positive show about being transgender so a positivity and knowledge of LGBT
experiences is a big plus.
