Stage / Circus rigger available - Edinburgh Fringe and beyond
at Topher Dagg (Anywhere)
introducing ROPEMONKEY
Aerial and entertainment rigging service for Scotland and beyond.
From audio-visual installations, to the safe erection and maintenance of free-standing outdoor circus rigs, I have the skills to meet your festival fringe requirements! Edinburgh based.
Get in touch at theropemonkey [at] gmail [dot] com
Cheers,
RopeMonkey.
Summary Resume:
My technical and organizational expertise has been developed over a decade of performing arts experience, 17 years as a rock climber and a Doctoral degree.
This has been formalised in the form of the Aerial Performance Rigger qualification, certifying me to legally rig/work at height, perform rescues and use lifting equipment.
I started my arts career as a performer - a multi-instrumentalist since childhood and later physical theatre including fire performance and clowning – affording a clear understanding of the various needs of performing collaborators. After being introduced to aerial performance techniques by the Gemini Twins, I found a natural aptitude for providing technical support and rigging solutions for such artists. I have since integrated my own mountain rope-craft and specialist safety skills with circus and theatre techniques to rig aerial equipment and audiovisual hardware in a wide range of venues, including dedicated trapeze studios and bespoke installations from Covent Garden to Scottish forests.
I am a BECTU member and covered by Public Liability Insurance.
